Dear Mrs. Iyengar,
Could you please tell me what an "Antioxident" is.
Is it good for kids too.
Thank you.
From,
Tasha.

Hello Tasha,
Thank you for your question.

The correct spelling is ANTIOXIDANT, and yes, these foods are good for kids too.
An antioxidant is like a super food for it has extra special nutrients that make the tiny cells in your body stronger. Some antioxidant vitamins — E, C and beta carotene (a form of vitamin A) — even help improve some health conditions in grown-ups, like heart disease.
A few good antioxidants are blueberries, red kidney beans, pinto beans, almonds, hazelnuts, artichokes, even apples and many, many more.

If you eat a lot of multi-colored fruits and vegetables daily, you will get all the anti-oxidants your body needs.
So eat a rainbow of foods each day for good health.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Iyengar.
