Kids Home Kool Recipes Essay Contest LOL Quizzlers Kids Nutrition Burn It Up Mail-Bag
Hello Mrs.Iyengar,
I want to know if it's ok that I like only cauliflower & potatoes and I eat either of them, everyday? I sometimes like a mixed subzi if it's made really spicy. Am I getting enough nutrients to grow up into a tall & healthy teenager?
Thank you,
Mihika

Hello Mihika
Cauliflower and potatoes make a great combination and I love them too, but not
every day. You are missing out on a lot of truly tasty vegetables, by avoiding all the other colorful vegetables available in the market. Cauliflower and
potatoes alone can not give you all the nutrients you need for growing
into a tall, healthy and a beautiful teenager with glowing skin. So...

I want you to close your eyes and imagine the following...
1. How would you like to study math and Hindi every single day and miss out on
English and science?
2. How would you like to wear the same dress and shoes every day, whether it
was your Birthday, school day or any holiday?

Sounds a lil boring, right?

I am sure once you look at it this way,you will try to include a variety of foods, to make a colorfully balanced diet and soon see the benefits. So try and occasionally include peas and juicy tomatoes with your potatoes and cauliflower and move to other colors like radishes, orange peppers, corn, crunchy beans and several other vegetables you can find in the food pyramid.

Let me know, if my suggestions were helpful. Remember, not just cauliflower and potatoes, but all vegetables can be made more spicy if you like them to be so.
Until next time...
Thank you and take care
