These misleading and often dangerous extreme weight loss programs have mushroomed these past few years. `The shorter and faster the route to success, the better' is our motto these days. We want everything instantly in this fast-paced life. Well, shortcuts don't seem to work when it comes to weight loss.

Vijayalakshmi Iyengar A new study published in AJCN (January) showed that in as far as weight reduction was concerned it is only the Calories that count, not where they come from.
The study was supported by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the General Clinical Research Center, NIH to determine whether energy-reduced diets that emphasize fat, protein, or carbohydrate showed different results in the reduction of total, visceral, or hepatic fat or preserve lean mass.
They found that all participants lost more fat than lean mass, irrespective of the diet consumed with no differences in changes in body composition, abdominal fat, or hepatic fat between assigned macro-nutrient amounts.

Here are 10 simple steps on how to eat little without noticing.
1.Use smaller plates
2.Serve yourself 20% less
3.Use taller glasses(for drinks which give calories)
4.Apart from carbs also have high protein for breakfast.
5.Begin the meal with soups.
6.Snack on salads if hungry between meals.
7.Chew well
8.Do not eat of a package.
9.Do not eat in front of the TV.
10. Do not pay attention to health claims.

There is no magic potion available for weight loss.It will not go overnight.Healthy balanced diet and regular physical activity is the only solution.
