The official entry packet contains a summary of the contest,
as well as information on contest rules, the privacy policy,
judging, and awards, background materials for students, and
the official entry form. |

Participants must produce
their own work***. Essays from children ages 9-12 should
be no longer than 350 words and should be typed using the format
in our packet. Essays from children ages 13-16 should be no
longer than 500 words and should be typed in the same format
as well. |

***All entries
deemed written by parents or school administrators will be
disqualified. This is an opportunity
to encourage children to learn, participate, be fair and take
responsibility for their OWN
effort. We will also review the essays selected for plagiarism. |

Submissions: |
No purchase is necessary, and there is no fee to enter or
to win. Entries will be accepted between July 1st, 2008, and
August 15th, 2008. Only fully completed entry forms are eligible.
The participant's name, age, grade, and region in which he or
she lives must appear on the Part A form only.
Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt
by the Sponsor. |

Online: All online submissions must be received
latest by 11:59 pm, on August 15th, 2008. All
participant's parent's / guardians must sign the parent/legal
guardian's form by filling in their name, phone number, and
e-mail address, in lieu of a signature. Entries without the
necessary consent of a parent or legal guardian will not be
accepted. |
