The listed food items are in addition to what you normally eat in a day. Often, we eat these items mindlessly, because they are tempting.
You ALWAYS have the choice to skip these foods and avoid excessive amounts of sodium and cholesterol that go with them.

I actually lost 1 kg the first week and it felt great. I had printed 2 copies of this page out and put one on my frig and one in my work diary.
But the problem is keeping up with the serving sizes. These are very small.
Are you sure these are the calories adding up?

I was still hungry in the end, though I didnt eat.
I cannot do this week in and week out.
Any suggestions?

Vijayalakshmi Iyengar Hi Saumitra, I am glad you were not only inspired but you took action –even better lost weight-Congrats. This just shows that it is working. If your goal is to lose weight it can be achieved only with smaller portions of food and increase your exercise, both which your body was not used to but will now adapt. After some time you will get used to these portions too. However in case you are hungry you can always compliment your meal with extra helpings of salads with low fat or no fat dressings and follow it up with large amounts of water. So go ahead have a few more shots at it till it becomes a habit.

Siddharth This article was very interesting to read. Simple steps for weight loss are being described. I am sure if we follow these in day to day life, we will not complain of weight gain.
