Despite constant warning about the risks of Obesity and sedentary life style leading to health problems such as cancer and diabetes, are positively showing an upswing. The latest statement jointly given by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) and the American Cancer Society (ACS) after a consensus is that both the diseases are linked (It is published online June 16 in Cancer) and the reason that they co exist more frequently in the same person is probably due to both diseases being complex and of multiple subtypes.
Adult onset diabetes is more associated with increased risk of certain cancers such as liver, pancreas, endometrium, colorectal, breast, and bladder but decreased risk of prostrate cancer and not clear or conclusive for others.
