Recently, the National Institute of Health - Senior Health issued a warning for older adults on the health risks of alcohol consumption. The body reacts differently to alcohol as it ages, and because alcohol consumption can have undesirable consequences on the health of the elderly hence they must reduce their consumption with age. The health benefits of moderate* alcohol consumption have been controversial but what is a well known fact is that heavy drinking puts one at high risk for several chronic diseases.
